    Default .177 / 4.5mm Pellet gun ex S.A.

    Hi Folks.

    Expat friend of mine from N.Z. will be returning to S.A. He's seeking to bring the above mentioned back as it's of sentimental value.

    As far as my knowledge extends, these don't require a licence but do they require paperwork from SAPS to leave the country? The carrier will accept them and they're accepted into New Zealand without paperwork.

    Technically, no, it's not a firearm as designated by the FCA.
    What customs etc. may come up with is uncertain.
    People do bring them in, if the https://www.airrifle.co.za/ has some info and they should, it would be a starting point as far as info goes. The site is running but not active, there may be threads where it has been discussed.
