Re: GP CRIME PREVENTION WARDENS
I followed some of them a couple of weeks ago. Saw them stuffing their faces at a place on the edge of town over lunchtime. Two vehicles. They drove out of the area they were supposed te be in. Basically took a Sunday drive and then headed back to town. Not stopping anywhere, not checking anything, just wasting petrol, time, money.

Re: GP CRIME PREVENTION WARDENS
My strong suspicion is that the real motivations for setting up the posse probably include; vote buying through sheltered employment, direction of equipment procurement tenders to mates for self enrichment and the creation of a private militia for force application in support of ANC tactical objectives. On the latter, I expect that we will see that in the run up to, and perhaps during, the next election where the gauteng anc is expected to come under quite a bit of pressure.

Re: GP CRIME PREVENTION WARDENS
Haha and so it starts to become clearer. I just read that that 124 pistols were procured for Lefufi's private posse at a unit cost of R78 225. If they are Glock 19's they could have bought them one at a time from S&O for R65+k less or they could have bought them each a pair of Shadow 2 Compacts instead.
This is just one small tranche of pistols, imagine how much has been stolen equipping 6000 of these muppets since 2023. The mind boggles.

Re: GP CRIME PREVENTION WARDENS
I had seen a clip about the cost of the pistols but didn't realize where they were going.
Would be interested to know how many of them are still in guavament use a year from now.
