The Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol Thread
If my handful of posts about this shotgun haven't given you a hint by now, then perhaps this thread dedicated to the A300 Ultima Patrol will make it clear that I'm pretty much in love with this latest release from Beretta.
https://www.beretta.com/en-us/a300-ultima-family/
Where the 1301 is the poor man's Benelli M4, the A300 Ultima Patrol is the poorer man's 1301. But that's not to say it's a slouch.
Anything but, if the many reviews hitting the tube of you's is to be believed. In fact, it appears to be every bit as capable as the formidable 1301 albeit at a lower price point.
Not to be confused with the "jUst aS GoOd" gang of budget Turkish shotties that have flooded the market in the absence of cost effective, high quality semi auto shotties. Whilst not made in Italy like the revered 1301, the US-made A300 Ultima Patrol nonetheless still appears to be built according to Beretta's quality standards.
The Ultima Patrol features an oversized loading port & larger bolt handle and release to aid in ease of use. The 7+1 extended magazine is held in place with a barrel clamp that has integrated QD mounts and MLOK compatible rail sections. A matching QD mount is also found on the underside of the stock. There's also a receiver-mounted pic rail section for mounting optics should you desire.
So, out the box the A300 comes with all the fancy add-ons you'd ideally want. On paper, the A300 should be slower than the 1301 but to the average user there's probably not going to be much to tell them apart.
Some of the reviews also mention finding a velcro attachment in the box. This is meant to be affixed to the shottie to enable the use of swappable shotshell "cards". Pretty neat.
Did I mention in comes in an awesome grey colour?
Anyway, enough about me talking about the Ultima Patrol; let's hear you talking about the Ultima Patrol.

And, of course, the comparison to the 1301 video:-
Followed by another comparison video this time featuring none other than Ernest Langdon himself:-

Re: The Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol Thread
I havent come across an A300 in the field that didnt work. One of those was what looked like a 'cleaned once a decade and occasionally used to drive in loose fenceposts' copy that lived behind the seat of the bakkie of a farmer we knew. He would join us occasionally to shoot guineas when he had time and despite it resembling a Vietnam battlefield pickup it worked flawlessly. If this gussied up GI Jane version shares it's intestines I'd buy one without hesitation.
