    Default Homemade fiber front sight

I decided to pimp my Ruger single 6 with a homemade front fiber sight from EN8 and a fiber from Jizni after I was just awed with the shadow 2 front sight. Much easier on the older eyes! I drilled the barrel diameter in a piece of 40mm EN8 and milled the sight from there. Exposed fiber slot was filed and the front of the sight was run through with a checkering file. Some sandpaper and sandblasting later it was ready for cold blue and fiber installation. The sandblasting seem to give more of a matt black finish after bluing. Went to test it after work today and I am really impressed with the outcome!

    Nice work Eben.

Is this the 1mm or the 1.5mm fiber?
    Thanks

It looks like the fatter end of the scale to me. i need to cook up a fibre front sight blade for my 1950's hi-standard citation but like the last one I did for a a pre-b 75 it will need to be done by hand as I lack a mill. I did the last one by drilling the hole first and then use that as the datum for all other filing figurin it would be easier go that way that trying to drill a perfectly on centre hole in a small item on a drill press later.
