Ideas for a knife display
Got around 20 or so knifes (variety of folders and fixed blades) that I would like to mount in a display of sorts and would appreciate some ideas. I have an existing display cabinet in my bar area and was thinking to add some magnetic strips into it and display the knives on them but my wife seems to think it will look cheesy/kitchen like or ............
Anyone have a knife display that can share some ideas or photos?
Cheers

Re: Ideas for a knife display
An option is to inset and glue high power magnets into the wood. That way they can be hidden behind the knives and they are way stronger than the typical self adhesive strip type.
If these guys can't sort you out, magnets aren't for you.
I've bought various shapes and 'powers' from them for all sorts of purposes. When you get your hands on a serious neodymium magnet the stuff from the crazy store starts to look silly.

Re: Ideas for a knife display
Go with the magnetic strip idea and then just cover it with suede or something like that
Some clear thumb tacs would probably also work

Re: Ideas for a knife display
Thanks for all the ideas guys. This is the display in question and was thinking to add 2 magnetic strips in each of the yellow areas in the display. Its about 50cm wide and more than enough height for 2 rows of knives per section....
