Browning Auto 5 replacement parts

Good morning Folks, does anyone know of a gun shop which stocks Browning Auto-5 replacement parts? It is for the older Auto-5, and not for the newer A5.

Well, that's quite an open ended question.......... which parts exactly?

VGK in Parow, Cape Town may be able to help. Speak to Shaun because I think he's the only one that is aware of the old Auto 5 spares. 021 939 2391.

If it's a replacement stock you're looking for I can point you to one of those too, but that is somewhere else.

Thanks a lot! The regular replacement parts consist of a recoil spring, bronze friction piece and an action spring along with a few odds and ends.

I spoke to Shaun; the Auto-5's are few and far between in SA, and they break so seldomly that it is not worth the trouble to stock parts

.

This is actually a little sad because their springs do need replacement from time to time.

DsJ , a spring maker will get you sorted and the friction pieces can be made.
Years ago there was a Gun Shop off Ridge Road Durban, called Roy's Guns and Gunsmithing Services. There was a chap that was very familiar with them and he was Rhodesian ( they hate to be called ex-Rhodesian) and he was an armourer from there . He was very knowledgeable. I am sure you will not be stuck if the need arises. You may also call Natal Gun Company.

You may also try Mid West in Pevely and they are very good.

Years ago I had springs made up for my Franchi by a spring maker based in Pinetown. ( but the originals I had were not damaged and the engineer was able to work from that) .
