    Default Low Shooting Air Rifle

    Rifle: Nova Vista HP-P900W
    Scope: Discovery VT-Z 4-16x44mm
    Pellet: 15gr.
    Distance: 30m

Rifle and scope bought new and has no more that 200 pellets down range. This problem has existed from day 1.

At 30m to get the rifle to shoot on POI one needs to crank the scope adjustment to max. At max there are scope aberrations which cause poor shooting. Additionally, if we want to reach out further there is no further adjustment.

We have disassembled the rifle and can see no obvious errors in alignment or major issues.

We have changed out scopes and the other scope does exactly the same, so we have eliminated the scope from the equation.

My brother had the rifle over a chronograph some time back and cannot remember the speed but said that it was in the range specified so he was happy that there were no air blockages / restrictions or leaks.

We are left believing that the barrel is not parallel to the actions. But this seems inconceivable given the good reviews received for a rifle at this price point.

Suggestions on where to look next would be appreciated.

Put some shimm in the one ring bottom and top in the other one. This will help change scope angle and get you to not having to turn scope adjustments to the end of the adjustment range.

    Ive done this several times.

You could just use electric tape and 1 to 2 pieces in one half of the ring.

You need to add to the bottom half of rear ring to lift rear of scope.

Thanks, I was hoping to identify the root cause rather than to treat the symptom. None of the rave YouTube reviewers have mentioned this to be an issue so I am making an assumption that it is unique to this rifle.

Have you ruled out the scope mounts?

Either the rings are not well made or your rifles rail where it mounts were cut slightly off

My second hand cfx did similar and it turned out to be the crappy rings which weren't aligned. Nearly did my head in trying to figure it out.

Same rifle and scope. Zeroed at 50m. Shoot jsb diablo 18gr.

Happy with the outcome. Many mimahs lying bones in the light, thanks to this air rifle!

Are both mounts identical? What happens if you swop them around?

    Thanks all.

Both mounts identical and swapped, no difference.

The rings came standard with a piece of "sticky rubber" tape at the bottom of the rings. I plan on removing this.
