Silencer for the type 56.

As per title, anyone on the forum managed to successfully put a proper silencer on their type 56. I know AKs can be a pain to suppress without a way to manage gas flow.

It’s looking scary the round it’s self works great when suppressed but the over gassed platform just breaks shit

Ase Utra Dual 7.62 Gen 2 is what you're looking for. Ase makes a muzzle break for the AKM platform.

AKs in general are over gassed and this will be exacerbated by using a suppressor without a gas management design.

There are only 2 available locally that I am aware of.

Ase Utra and Silent Steel.

Fitting a KNS Precision Adjustable Piston may also be beneficial.

So there is a local brand that has popped up, company is called Lycan engineering… silencers look amazing. But I’m with you, Ase Utra is fantastic.

KNS was definitely the road I’d like to follow. Just wanted to see if anyone has had success with them because it’s not always guaranteed especially with AKs.

On a standard length T56 a KNS would be great even if not suppressed.

On the adjustable gas piston thing.

There is a dude in Goodwood, as I recall, that modifies LM/R gas pistons to be adjustable via a jet. Essentially the jet allows some gas to flow past the piston early, while the piston is still in the gas block.

I have one on my LM6. It works great. My rifle no longer launches cases into low earth orbit and its reliable with and without the can.

That said, the can is a SAIMAA STILL which is a flow through type.
