The mugging

A few years ago at Rietvlei Nature Reserve I saw the foolowing act of violence perpetrated on a poor African Hoopoo by two Fork-tailed Drongos. A Common Myna was also contemplating a similar act of violence but the brutality of the Drongos gave him pause for thought.

Very nice! Something you don’t see often. A cat in the yard caught a pigeon some time back. While he was eating it, my chickens went and pulled the wings of the pigeon from him. There were 2 chickens running around the yard with pigeon wings in their mouths, the cat jumped into the park to have the rest of his meal in peace.
