82 years since attack on Pearl Harbor

Crazy to think that WW2 is slipping fast from living memory. As a child I had relatives who were still of working age who had served in that one as well as two elderly gents who survived the great war with one having been at Delville Wood.

I had no idea how priveliged I was to have them tell me a little of what they experienced.

I watched a doccie yesterday where they state that the first shot taken in anger, in the battle of the pacific, was from the US Navy. They sank a Japanese mini submarine 1 hour prior to the Arial attack.

Yip. That was one of the many bits of information they failed to stitch together and turn into actionable intelligence. Had they been able to do so and minimised their losses Japan may have been stopped a few years earlier than it was.

USA: "200 zero's above Pearl Harbour is a very bad thing.
