Very nice sighting!

I guess they would have gone back to the kill later, or would the next opportunist (jackal / brown hyena) have tried for an innings?

When I passed the same spot an hour later, the eagles were back, feeding and fighting off crows.

They are rather big birds.

We have one breeding pair left in the cape peninsula, they have a sub adult chick at the moment. I have also seen the pair at the Piekenierskloof pass N7.

I remember them taking lambs from an Uncle’s farm in the Karoo, but that was many years ago.
