Current state of the Type 56

Aren't the SDM's just rebranded T56's? Kinda look it, but I can't say I've really looked hard so yeah.

SDM seems to get mediocre reviews. Local dealer who has both says i should come check them out, but he gave me heads up that the SDM is definitely not in the same bracket as the T56.

Curious to hear how the factory 26 Type 56s are in terms of finish.

Seems like the factory doesn't make a difference. Any factory can push out good or bad. I think it depends only on who it is for or how much they're paying.

No it's not. Factory 26 is rated the same or better.

There does not seem to be much on factory 26, more on its production of the SKS. Factory 66 seems to get more press as the main producer. Whilst the finish does not quite match a Saiga 103, I was surprised to see that the sight alignment and accuracy matched or exceeded that of the 103. Nothing comes close to the finish on some of the earlier stamped Russian AKM's.

The current batch of Norinco AK's that came in are built very well. And shoots very well.

In fact just got a Custom Cast USA Brass Catcher today for it. So can shoot it now without having to go look for brass.
