Default Mount Options for 34mm tube on Brno 602

A friend has bought a big scope (Arken EP5 5-25X56, 34mm tube) for his .300 Win Mag Brno 602 and is looking for options to fit this behemoth to his rifle.

Anyone who has done this before? I suggested the normal CZ/Brno style rings, but it seems they dont come in the 34mm size.

So that would leave seperate bases or rail as an options, but I am concerned this would leave the scope sitting too high.

    Opinions would be appreciated
    .

*Edit: the rear sight may also present a problem, but I believe this can be removed

Does Warne not make 34mm bases for the CZ?

'Tis Warne that I always reccomend, but they dont seem to offer CZ specific rings for 34mm. I really like the direct mount rings, also have them on my CZ 550.

Hmmm.... that's fate telling him what we all actually know: he should buy a proper gaming gun to mount under that mini-Hubble, and rather use the ZKK as the real hunting rifle it is

You will be limited to two piece mounts either studs or picatinny or just a full length picatinny.

What is he using the rifle for?
If long-range gong-shooting (which the scope would be suited for) then "too high" isn't really a thing.
Mounting it higher will result in less muzzle rise during recoil, making spotting the fall of shot easier. But of course the stock has to be altered to suit.

I re-built my .308 a while ago. Increased scope height from 2" to 3", and it made a huge difference to muzzle rise. Can see bullet impacts at 100m now.

I fitted a lot of scopes professionally on pretty much every make of mounts and rifles available. But that was twenty years ago and there's a lot on the market these days with which I'm not familiar. But I can say three things the first of which is opinion the other two being facts. First, I consider those huge scopes more suited to artillery pieces and out of place on sporting rifles. Its the first I've heard of 34mm tubes and I'll be surprised if any makers offers rings. What MIGHT work, if there's enough metal, is that 32mm rings could be bored out (lathe bored) to 34mm. But no matter how rings are procured, a 56mm objective will need high rings to clear the barrel, and line of sight will require the stock cheel piece to be raised. Doesn't make sense to me.

I would use Lynx bases: https://www.lynx.co.za/pages/mounts_stud_bases.html

    And Lynx Rings: https://www.lynx.co.za/pages/mounts_stud_rings.html

I use them on my ZKK600 (with a 25mm tube optic) and very happy with them. They are interchangeable with Thor rings & bases too. I can't find a link for Thor Engineering, which is in Pretoria, but every gunshop in the country has stock of their products and can order items they don't have in stock.

Lynx also manufactures Picatinny rails for the CZ550, which might fit the ZKK602, but check before buying: https://www.lynx.co.za/pages/mounts_...nny_rails.html

...... I also think he has chosen the wrong scope for that rifle.

These are the last rings I would use on a heavy scope like this.
Had them on my .308 with a 900gr scope, and they shot themselves to pieces. I ended up welding the rings to the bases.

I've been using Lynx rings in 34mm on my 243W for a few years now, very happy so far!

However, this is not a very heavy recoiling caliber.
