You broke it down well and I agree.

If anything I think that some previous members of organizations don't contribute because they are put off by the big dick swinging and petty politicking that seems to be a feature of far too many of our shooting organizations. I'd like to see the leaders of the organizations I belong to shelving their egos and agreeing on a universally acceptable 4 or 5 point plan to rally behind but there's probably more chance of me growing another knob than of that happening.
Hopefully pretty much incorporated in your current one so you get a girth or length advantage without being labeled a freak by the ladies.

They miss the bigger picture and feed their own petty shit. There is a time and place for that, but not now and here.

I'm hoping for a post retirement gig on onlyfans so separate units would be a distinct advantage.

On a slight tangent I see FGASA is transitioning towards becoming a SAQA-recognised professional body as well.

Lots of benefits listed by FGASA apparently but the cynic in me usually sees more fees and time frames etc implemented more than anything else.

They lost a big chunk of the market once people figured out FGASA is not a legal requirement for guiding, and you can do it without them.

I see this as their way of making sure they keep their bread buttered.

I thought it was a requirement, that's interesting. Who became their main competitors?

The legal framework is run by CATHSSETA, so you have your nqf2/nqf4 nature side guide/cultural guide etc qualifications.

When you do FGASA you defacto do these in the syllabus/certificates, but fgasa adds more/ changes requirements.

So not competitors per say but people/lodges/organisations have figured out you can just go through CATHSSETA, without having to do FGASA.

For example, the field guide training school Bushwise has moved away from FGASA as its not required, while others have remained aligned with fgasa.

That's a factor among a tiny minority who expect the impossible for their few bucks. I reckon I have as much experience of this as anyone even if it is old experience, and can tell you that its exactly what Branden88, MS2W2 and Paul have said ie idleness, laziness, can't be bothered, couldn't care less, let somebody else do it. Simple as that.
