You can also use Bellum Arcus to import for you if you don't come right with shipping to SA.

I have used them a few times to import items for me.

First orders had to go through SA post office because of import duties. I explained to Joe at Lakeline that this is not viable due to the state it's in. They then worked a deal through easy export and DHL to get it all done more efficiently. These chaps in Texas really are great and very helpfull. If u don't see what your after on their website, ask them. They can get it and take care of rest.

Specify when ordering that u want the DHL option.
Thanks - I have emailed Joe now. Hopefully they can source the parts. Explained to him about quoting for DHL as well

My first order with LakeLine also came via the post office. It took 5 days to arrive in SA from Texas.
12 days to clear customs in JHB
A further 5 weeks to get from JHB to DBN

The las thing I ordered from the US for delivery via SAP was a couple of out of print books for a mates 50th. I placed the order more than a month early and they arrived three months after his birthday. They were trackable till they arrived in SA which took a few days and then disappeared entirely. That was 7 or 8 years back and even if they are still in the business of moving parcels around I would sooner use a carrier pigeon.

I had no idea that springs could possibly be an issue, so these tips on how to import them are useful. The two obvious sources are Brownells or direct from Wolf, both of which would be happy to send them without incriminating labels I would've thought. I have a nice little text book about making springs which makes it look not too difficult if a tad time consuming. I bought it just out of curiosity with no intention of making them myself. But I did make a small leaf spring for a double set trigger. It worked perfectly at the time and I assume it continued to do so because it didn't come back.
