    Default 1301 barrel shorting

    Hey folks

This may sound like a hair brain idea but bare with me.

I've got a 1301 comp pro that I use for ipsc that I love.
I've been wanting a tactical for a while but another 1301 comp pro has come available for cheaper than a new tactical so was just wondering if anyone locally would be able to cut a chrome lined barrel and then rethread for chokes?
Just to get a 1301 with the kickoff stock, pro lifter and the likes for cheaper than a tactical makes sence if its even an option

    Cheers

You can only shorten barrels with approval from CFR or in the ordinary course of a repair.

And you can't re-thread for chokes, there is not enough wall thickness to do it safely.

Depending on barrel thickness it may be possible. The guys at demotorque told me that my 930 Mossberg could be done but concentricity couldn't be guaranteed. It does have a barrel profile like a 590a1 though so I've no idea whether the same would be true for the 1301.
