Default Unique .22 rifle Conversion Kit

    Good evening,

A friend of mine to sell his Unique conversion kit, it isnt attached to any license.

Am I correct in advising that it's illegal? he cant sell it to anyone or is it similar to a Roni?

    Thank you.

They are specific to the Unique .22 pistol.

They were usually licensed together. The pistol and the rifle conversion .. if you can call it that. They are both barrels.

I would refer to S94 of the FCA before letting it go to just any random person :
"Prohibition of possession of firearm parts94. (1) For purposes of this section, ‘‘firearm part’’means a slide, bolt or breech-block of a firearm.
    (2) No person may possess any firearm part unless he or she—
    (a) holds a licence in respect of a firearm capable of bearing that firearm part;" after considering if the part has a serial number or is considered a 'part'.

The rifle bit includes a barrel so as I understand it would require a license to be possessed. It is effectively a rifle without the 'receiver'.

I went and had a look, very interesting concept.
Do the barrels even have a serial number?

I didn't check on the two that I have seen in the flesh. A barrel requires a license on its own so even if the thing originally came as a single license set with the pistol it would have to be licensed.

I'm assuming it was probably acquired pre-act?

Short of an amnesty, how does one go about fixing this?
