    Default Ruger gp100 springs

    Hi guys
So I just picked up used ruger gp100 and it seems like the cylinder latch/stop spring needs to be replaced. Any idea where I can source one locally?
What's happening is the cylinder will lock up after the trigger is pressed. If I push the cylinder lock down, the gun will index again
Looks like the spring is weak and not returning the cylinder latch/stop.

Thanks, I emailed them earlier, let's see what happens. Alternatively, any good revolver gunsmiths in Johannesburg area?

Worst case. Have a spring made.

Here in Cape Town is CapeWell Springs.

You give them dimensions and they make them up. Use to be R250 minimum order. And if small springs you end up with a bag full.

The spring and latch could just be gummed up with old oil and dirt. It's a little coil spring, chances of it breaking are quite slim.
Do you have the skill and patience to disassemble it and clean it out? If not, rather visit a revolver-savvy gunsmith.

If you want take it apart and scared the spares might fly away, you can strip it inside a clear plastic bag. In the bathroom with the toilet lid closed and the plug in the basin.
At my old townhouse there is a small spring somewhere in the lawn, within range of the porch. But n Bic lighter spring, works perfectly as a replacement. Always wear glasses. LoL

This. I recovered a 1911 recoil spring plug from the roof of a house once.

Update: Despite taking it apart and putting it back together multiple times, a quick trip to a gunsmith and it's working again. Apparently it's just a finicky example of being re assembled. Alls good now, Friday is range day!
