Rust in Barrel
I was cleaning my EDC today, a G19X, and I noticed what looks like a little bit of rust at the end of the barrel. Is there a way to get ride of it? I've got some nitro-solvent which I've always been told is anti-rust. For now I've just cleaned the barrel out with my nylon brush (that came with the gun when I bought it) and some cloth pads just to try and hold the rust from getting worse. Is this something to head over to the gunsmith for?

Re: Rust in Barrel
Looks more like copper fouling to me for what it's worth.

Re: Rust in Barrel
Get IOSSO Bore Cleaner. Little on a cloth and if thats rust or copper its gone in no time.
Other option is to get GoldiLocks scorer at your local PnP. Not ChinaTown steel coated. Original made from brass. Put around cleaning brush or cloth brush and push through barrel.
Brass way to soft to do anything to the barrel but will take out lead or any other tough fouling

Re: Rust in Barrel
Ive read your post on the other thread, now I'm curious
I've recently purchased a SAI PCC still awaiting approval, I've bought this kit https://realavid.com/products/bore-b...45350870384797
for the 9mm Carbine, what's the potential issue or problem with a bore snake kit ?

Re: Rust in Barrel
Or something like Robla Solo from the Klever/Ballistol people. Use outside or in a well ventilated area, keep away from copper and brass...
Didn't google so if you can still get it.

Re: Rust in Barrel
I have the same firearm but the SILC version (threaded barrel).
What were the majority of bullets you were using out of the 1000.
I'm probably close to 3000 now with mine, and 99% of the 3000 has been Silver Rapids 147gr's, I haven't noticed anything at the muzzle end, I'm guessing it might have to do with your sweat/ carry position.

Re: Rust in Barrel
Honestly I'd rate none, as long as you don't make the mistake of trying to pass it down a barrel that it's not sized for. I've used them for a while on my AR and hunting rifles. But I'm switching over to solely using the brushes and rods I have.
