Re: CZ Shadow 2 Carry
Finally, not sure what they were thinking with the Gen 1.

Re: CZ Shadow 2 Carry
I have the Shadow 2 Compact and considered carrying it as EDC. The fact that it does not have a decocker or firing pin block does not stress me. I carried a 1911 Series 70 as EDC for over 35 years without any incident and neither of these safety features were present.
However, the Shadow 2 Carry like the Compact, I suspect will also be at the R35K mark and do you really want to risk having this taken indefinitely for IBIS if you actually have to use it for self defense, even if justified - I think not!
Rather stick to a R12K 'tupperware EDC' like the Glock that does not hurt the back pocket if its unnecessarily confiscated.

Re: CZ Shadow 2 Carry
So a P01 shaped like a S2... who would have thought it would take them 2 tries to get it right when they already have the secret sauce.

Re: CZ Shadow 2 Carry
I've got a S2 Compact currently waiting for the license and will be carrying full time. Looking at the S2 Carry, the only real benefit for me is the integrated RMSc optic cut instead of the 'universal' cut on the Compact which sacrifices the rear sight. De-cocker also a nice feature but not essential for me, as I will be looking to add an extended safety to the Compact due to the low profile one being a bit difficult to engage. Black grips also look way cooler IMO.
When I first saw the S2 Carry I thought "damn should have waited" but not having the firing pin block on the Compact is actually a big plus for me. Coming from a competition background and always having crisp light 2-3lb triggers, the FPB is a negative as it adds almost 2lbs to the trigger pull over the non FPB version (from initial reviews of the S2 Compact and Carry). Fairly extensive research has been done on the S2 Compact regarding 'drop safeness' and its convincing enough for me to carry with confidence.
Just my 2 cents, not everyone will be comfortable carrying a DA/SA FA without the FPB and de-cocker, and not everyone will prioritise trigger pull over perceived safety.

Re: CZ Shadow 2 Carry
I'm perfectly happy carrying a 75 pattern gun without a FPB cocked and locked and did for a long time. I would not be comfortable doing the same with a round chambered and hammer down. In that state being dropped is one of the ways that could result in a discharge with a blow to the hammer being another. The act of manually lowering the hammer on a chambered round is also inherently more likely to lead to a discharge than decocking. I've met two people who carry shadows and both do so hammer down on a chambered round.
