Greenland: Where You Can Buy Toilet Paper and a Rifle in the Same Aisle

Well, I thought it only fair to kick off my first post in this section with a couple of photos I took recently in Greenland. This was in a town called Sisimiut — a remote, rugged place with some of the most stunning Arctic scenery I’ve ever laid eyes on.

I’ve been lucky enough to set foot on all seven continents and visit more countries than I can count, but this was a first for me: walking into a Spar where you can buy toilet paper and a hunting rifle — right there in the same aisle. Only in Greenland.

It’s a place where practicality and survival go hand in hand — and where everyday life is anything but ordinary.

The first gun I bought myself came from a gun shop in a Dions.

The hardware store in Vanderbijl comes close - gunshop and range in the back.

Interesting, what makes and calibers did they have available?

I'm guessing the usual House Brand and Baby Soft, in single AND double ply, quilted and plain?

The Midas just up the road from the Aug Behrens Spar also has a fairly nice Gunshop

Nope, it was at Northgate and it was in '93 as far as I can remember.
