I had one license approved mid December and received card 6 January. Had another license approved on 19 Jan and collected card first week in Feb. All done through Durbanville station, I must say they really go the extra mile there.

Don't panic! The new printer spits out a new card every two minutes on average (taking into account downtime, replenishment of resources, etc, etc). So working 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, it should only take 16 months or so to work through the backlog!

Licenses approved 24 Jan. Got SMS today from Lyttelton to collect cards WITHIN 5 WORKING DAYS! The @#%*^%$ audacity to impose a 5 day timeline after they took 2.5 years!! Jokers!

But since I can't wait to get my hands on my new babies, I'll be there tomorrow

I was rather lucky, received my card 5 days after approval. That in rural KwaZulu Natal!
