Would like to know as well?

As per the previous comments, it would probably be better for all the organisations as well as guns shops to unite, pool funds and resources on this one.

In reference to point two in post #28, I was pleased when the competencies were extended to ten years or made valid for a current license period as this was easier than the alternative. The reduction of the period is a step backwards in my opinion.

Competency should be valid for life, period.

Yes. If a person does something bad enough not to be allowed a firearm the police have it on their system and can deal with it.. Competencie and licence, both should be valid for life.

Methinks we should never loose perspective on the overall scenario being played out:

    1. The criminals are getting away without any effort to curtail their activities, in fact, several politicians and officials are actively involved in crime.
    2. The licenced and law-abiding citizens are restricted and limited in their efforts to make a living and stay alive.

So which side are the powers-that-be really on?

Do the math. It's not complicated.

I do not expect them to be turned around or convinced by reason. They have chosen sides long ago and are fully invested in their alliances.

In addition to our SA scenario there is an international push for greater gun restrictions and for the reduction of freedoms and rights.
The UN seems to be a driving force in this and I wonder who is financing these efforts?

Michael Bloomberg and his Everytown organization are major drivers. The ultra left leaning Sorros is also a name that seems to pop up from time to time, although there are some that dispute this.

NOBODY disputes Soros being a major financier of GFSA.

Many dispute the significance of the funding source though. I laugh my ass off when numpties portray Soros as some sort of wrinkly care bear.

Is there any update on how the backlash has been taken?

Or is it head in the sand time for the committee responsible for this current round of stupidity?
