    Default Big Bore Accuracy.

I think that the accuracy of big bore rifles is often underestimated, this group was fired at 50m, of shooting sticks, with my .416 rem mag, fitted with an Aimpoint H1 2moa red dot sight. I used three different bullets, to determine their relative points of impact, top one is a 350gr Spoor, bottom left is a 400gr Spoor and bottom right is a 400gr Peregrine VRG-3. Each square measures one inch.

IIRC one of the old PMP grouping competitions was won by a 9.3x62 shooting a <10mm group.
I've shot some decent (<1 MOA in my case) groups with my 9.3 and 416 at 100m. The big bores are capable of it for sure!

And, it seems that they do it without fuss. My 404 also shoot comparable to your photo with 350 gr Peregrine, 350 gr Spartan, 360 gr Peregrine and 450 gr Woodleigh and that even from mixed brass. The 450 gr will print a bit lower than 350 gr, but less than an inch at 50 m. The bigger guns don't have finicky issues of "exact seating depth of bullets and primers" and "perfect annealing" etc. I really enjoy that about my Jeffery.

I have seen the same from .416 Rigby and .458 WM and Lott. And that is where my Big Bore Experience ends.

For my own shooting I have an idea that part of it is correlated to concentration. When shooting the .404, especially from a bench, I really concentrate on trigger squeeze a lot because no DG rifle should have a "hair trigger" so there is some creep to overcome and I am also meticulous about shooting position so that I don't get half mooned and really concentrate to not develop a flinch or close my eyes as the trigger is supposed to let go. All normal procedures that should be done always, but with the Big Bores I tend to concentrate more, because if not, it might hurt.
