Black Wildebeest.
I hunted a black wildebeest for rations this morning. While they are not difficult to find, seeing as how they tend to hang out in the middle of the wide-open plains, it is difficult to get close enough for a shot, seeing as how they tend to hang out in the middle of the wide-open plains. This morning, I managed to get close enough to a bachelor herd, consisting of 13 bulls, by keeping a couple of bushes between us.
The first photo is my shooting setup, the second is a photo of the dead bull taken through the scope (at 12x) and the third is a photo of the bull.
Who says the .30-06 is not a good plains cartridge?

Re: Black Wildebeest.
It starts out at ±2700fps. I have found that CX bullets give high pressure at fairy low velocities in both the .30-06 and in two different 6.5 Creedmoor's.
This is the fastest accurate load for the .30-06 before I starting to see pressure signs.
