Bondi Beach Mass shooting in Australia
Eleven killed after gunmen target Jewish festival in deadliest Australia shooting in decades
https://www.bbc.com/news/live/ckgk391yzm7t
Summary
New South Wales Police say 11 people have been killed in a shooting at Bondi Beach targeting the Jewish community, with 29 taken to hospital - including a child British-born Rabbi Eli Schlanger was among those killed in the attack, his family tells the BBC. The shooting happened while an event was being held to mark the start of Hanukkah. Police say more than 1,000 people were in attendance
One gunman has been killed and a second suspect is in critical condition, police say. One video gives the clearest picture yet of how the Bondi Beach attack was carried out, writes BBC Verify's Benedict Garman. Mass shootings are rare in Australia, which makes the incident "more shocking", New South Wales Premier Chris Minns says
An eyewitness tells the BBC he lost "a very dear friend" who'd just become a father again, while a young man says it felt like the shots went on for "an eternity"

Such a sad day, well done to the hero who disarmed one of the attackers. May the fallen RIP.

I thought Oz had very strong gun control laws? Should these laws not have prevent access to firearms!
Give the civilian a Bells and many the ones who lost their lives RIP.

It was committed by a Pakistani dad and son team. The dad had 6 rifles and shotguns licensed to him. They used all of the guns in the attack. The civilian who bodied the attacker is a Christian Maronite from Lebanon.
The most braindead comment so far is that this proves you don't need a firearm to counter a firearm wielding attacker."Always remember to pillage before you burn"

I have little doubt that this will be the impetus for further firearms restrictions there.

Like they took a page out of the NZ playbook. After banning social media accounts for under 16's. I'm sure the law makers in the nanny state are salivating with a new bunch of laws and greater government control.
It is sad that innocent people have to pay the ultimate price, because of 2 people.

That didn't take long.
"The prime minister has proposed strengthening Australia's gun laws, including via limits on the number of firearms that can be licensed per person, a day after a deadly terror attack at Sydney's Bondi Beach."

The warders are going to crack down on the convicts. Shocker!
