    Default Big Bore Hog.

I shot this warthog boar this morning using my .416 rem mag with a 350gr Spoor bullet at ±2500fps. Range was ±120m. Maybe a bit of overkill but it worked.

No, I'll have to be very hungry to eat a boar of that age. They smell horrible. It was shot to feed some endangered predators.

TStone , was that Rudi's ( 458 Exp ) product? Did you retrieve the bullet ?

I would be very impressed (with the warthog, that is) if it managed to stop a .416 Rem Mag big game bullet from any angle!

Yes, it was Rudi's bullet. Despite the rather steep angle the bullet penetrated completely and exited. I have hunted with the Spoor bullets in 6mm Creedmoor, 7x57, .30-06, 9.3x62, .375 H&H and .416 rem mag and they have performed flawlessly on game ranging in size from springbok to eland and cape buffalo.

In this case, local is indeed lekker.
