    Default On the Lomba 1987

    I purchased this book while browsing at Exclusive Books.It is essentially a diary by a 61 Mech driver/gunner who served in a G5 battery. He was already a qualified motor mechanic yet was placed in the artillery (go figure) for his two years national service.Generally I don't like daily diary entry type books, but in this one the narrative flows well and details the "peaceful" existence at 61 base Omuthiya building up to operation Modular and the conventional battles on the Lomba River in Angola.
