Default The LM Rifles and their accessories.

    Hi Guys

This must be one of the most common Semi-Auto's around, especially for 3 gun shoots and law enforcement.

What accessories are there for these rifles, how much are they, where to get them? I know the LM6's have side mounting grooves but none of the LM5's I've seen have, so what mounts are around for the 6's and 5's.

Please post pics if you have any, I'd be very interested in what they look like and how secure they are.

Ive never seen a 6 with the side dovetail. Ive seen one 4 with it though. They are pretty rare.

Most galil parts will fit. B and T do a sweet handguard with quad rails. It costs about $400.

Ive heard of railed gastubes for the 6 but never seen any. They are available for Galils in the US.

Guys put rails on the dustcover. My problem with this is that you lose your rear sight.

Recsomp do a rail kit that mounts over your gas tube and receiver. Its about R800, but I think that you lose your iron sights here too.

I have a Dr Optik clone on my gastube. Forward mounted with true co-witness with a proper battle sight. Ill post pics at some stage.

Mount is secure enough for a 6MOA dot.

AK pistol grips will apparently fit.

You can mount a section of M1913 rail on the bottom of the handguard and mount VFGs and lights to that.

Best accessories you can get for your LM is mags and ammo!

    Hi craig

I have a LM5. I have just ordered a side mount from RHT( From our local gun shop who I think orders it from RHT.). I have been told by very knowledgeable authorities that the mount that replaces your dust cover is not all that efficient, as during use, the dust cover can or will apparently move about slighty. I do however stand under correction.

I forgot about these. You can drill and tap the receiver and mount an AK side rail. The problem with these is they tend to mount your optic rather high.

Bsquare makes an AK mount too which uses your existing receiver holes. They also move about a bit, and you can't use your irons, if I recall. They also make using your LHS safety difficult.

The dust cover mounts move around but one must consider what one intends to use the rifle for. If you are putting a RDS on it and the dot is, say, 4moa, it's going to cover 4 inches of your target at 100m, so the best you can hope for, accuracy wise is 4moa. A small amount of movement in your mount is not going to make this much worse.
