Default Tasco 3-9x50 Made in Japan for R1000

Hey guys, I probably should do a better job trawling the search results, but am I looking at a good deal here. Or should I look the other way.

Optics are still crystal, and paralax adjustment still seems to be accurate.

Maybe I should clarify this post, I am not selling it, I am interrested in buying it. I gather that by the lack of response.
    Either
...I have done something to offend you all
    or
...The scope is such crap that no one is going to bother telling me as much

Also, anyone reckon it will work on a 300 win mag?

The only thing I know about Tasco was way back in 1991 when my dad bought his 30-06 Musgrave and in 1994 when I had one on my 375H&H Brno. We had no problems with the 2 scopes. They kept their 0 pretty well and worked great. Not sure how the new Tasco scopes are.

I think this must be the same era scope that you are refering, since Tasco moved the contract to China in '96.

Now let's hope i get a decent bonus so that I can afford to take the chance on the scope. :)

To be honest it would be interesting to hear what you say about the new Tasco scopes. I'm sure there is light years difference between a 30K Swarovski and a 1K Tasco. But hey a 1k Tasco beats open sights every time.

My friend have a Swarovski Scope. And according to him if could make coffee and give a BJ it would be the perfect life partner.

For 30K I'd expect the same. My ideal scope has the following qualities.
    1. I must be able to see through it.
    2. It must not fall apart after firing my rifle.

And yes there is a rather marked diference in the two. The price. :)

Had a look through a 30 k scope on the range and on a couple of hunting trips, and I couldn't justify buying one. The optics are clearer and crisper etc. but it doesn't help you shoot any straighter. Especially not when your hunting rifle is only worth 8k.

One day when I buy myself a 30k rifle, i'll look at a 30k scope as well.

I have to agree. When I buy my Steyr Manlicher one day I will get my 30k scope. I shot plenty game with my cheap Tasco.

The older Japanese Tascos were actually good scopes. Tasco today is NOT the same company and they do not honor the "Lifetime" warranty of the old Tascos.

    For R1000 ($140USD+/-??) I'd get something else.
