Re: Beretta Pistols?
Putting a manual safety on a GLOCK is like buying a brand new Merc SL65AMG and paying some schmuck to weld on a useless clutch pedal to it.

Re: Beretta Pistols?
The US Military went to M9 Berettas because they wanted a disposable pistol. The last 1911's built were in the 40's and all had been rebuilt scores of times, and were deemed to be too old and unreliable. The M9's could be used til they were worn out, discarded and replaced with a new one. They were cheap ($134ea) and reliable. But run a 92fs hard for 10,000-12,000rds and you will notice reliability issues as the gun goes out of spec.
The 92fs is a great shooting, cool looking pistol, but it is not made for a lifetime of regular use. For that, get a Glock, or even an M&P 9.
And, BTW, the gun that won the US Military trials was the Sig/Sauer P226 (Ugh) but they were demonstrably more money (3x) and Sig/Sauer refused to build a manufacturing plant in the US.
