    Default Alarm-activated Strobe

Posted this earlier...don't know if it was deleted or just never went through:

I was wondering what you lot thought about the use of a strobe light as part of your home security? I don't know if such setups already exist, but here is what I am thinking:

Attached a strobe light to be activated when your alarm goes off, possibly/potentially affecting a BG's sight. Here's what I have in mind. See the attached super artistic representation of my hallway:

(Yes, it's a slow day at work...)

Surely this could provide a tactical advantage, especially if he is armed and shooting back, as this will be flickering in the BGs eyes as he tries to break down your barrier, and it should have less of an effect on you as you will be positioned (likely) behind the light, providing more visibility to you while obscuring his.

Obviously you will need to train to act/react effectively under these conditions, but still...

    What do you guys think?

Awesome artwork. Would a superblinding floodlight not work better for this? With a floodlight BG is blinded and disorientated and might freeze like a deer in headlights. With a strobe, even though the light isn't in your eyes, down the hallway with it flickering it would effect the way you see the BG, like the way you see movement at a party or club with strobes.

Now what would be cool is: I assume your barrier is metal? Hook a fence energizer up to it and watch him shock himself :p

Cerop, I'm really liking the artwork. Gave my quite a laugh!

I think the normal spotlight like KLRanger said would be a really good idea - don't know much about the strobe.
