    Default 45 minor

So what if you have a pistol in 45ACP that is not competitive in the standard class ...

I was thinking of downloading so that it will cycle reliably and then join the guys in production class ... until someday I have enough moola to get a 9mm version?

I have shot 200gr bullets at just under 700 fps with success, but will have to test some more to check reliable ejection.

Has anybody done this or could you give advice?

M&P45 - "safe action", so it would be legal.

There are a couple of guys that shoot G21's in production class and download to below major factor. Just make sure it cycles in your pistol.

I will try out my first "competition" with 45 minor loads this Saterday at the KSC IDPA classifier. Hopefully I get no malfunctions as in my tests the gun cycled with no problems.

Good luck. What factor are you getting now and are using the same recoil spring

I have seen it in IPSC with a Glock 45 downloaded and competing in Production Gun and it worked perfectly. Not sure what his factor was and I think that you would not be able to go as low as say a factor of 130 as I think you would get reliability issues at this level, but at say a factor of 150 it might work and be very comfortable?

Last time I put it over the chrono I was getting a factor of 134. That was for a 5 shot average of 670 fps with 200 gr bullets.

This is with the factory recoil spring.

I am no expert on the subject but I think you are at the level wherby should you go lower...you will most probably experience extraction and feeding problems with the standard spring. Not sure what the difference is between the rating of the standard Glock 9mm and the Glock 45 recoil spring. If they are the same (?) then you should be OK to but if the 45 has a higher rating...then you just might be in reliability problem area.

The only way is to shoot and see what happens but I would not advice in going lower...maybe even a few factor points higher. However you test it and see what the result is.
