Re: Best and brightest torch and spotlight
What do you want it for?
I ask because there is such a thing as too bright on a tac light.
Look at www.hailstormza.com for ITP, Olight and Surefire. All are excellent.Cattle die, kindred die, every man is mortal:
But I know one thing that never dies,
the glory of the great dead.

Not a weapon mount light but look at http://www.microfire.cn/en/product_so.asp?id=30
I have a previous version and it is very very impressive!

Another great light I have is this one.Much smaller than the Microfire but very handy and exceptionally bright for it's size.It has a long runtime aswell.

Another super torch that my brother in law has is this one.Physically big but with a really good runtime and instant bright light or 2200lumens.The microfire of 3500 lumens has an HID globe in similar to a spotlight. This type of globe takes around 30secs to reach full intensity but then this is a very very white almost blue beam. The Olight SR90 has a more normal yellow beam, instant though and very bright long throw.

If you need an exceptional spotlight (Jackal control) look at http://www.lightforce.net.au/product...heldspotlights
I've got 3. All going for more than 10 years now, and they are available locally. Safari and Outdoor.

Re: Best and brightest torch and spotlight
+1
I have a NexTorch and it's around 80 Lumens, has a pressure switch at the back and can have a constant on with a twist at the back.
I found anything brighter than that in a hand held tac torch can be too bright, picking up on burnt powder and dust too easily, think putting your brights on while driving through mist!

Re: Best and brightest torch and spotlight
I can vouch for ITP from www.hailstormza.com
Have two of them and they are great Tac lights."He who makes a beast of himself, gets rid of the pain of being a man…"

Re: Best and brightest torch and spotlight
Lots of pro and cons on all set ups and a long dicussion would be needed to cover all details.
I think Greg should indicate what the intended use will be.
