"The wave feature"

Hi, it’s me again (noob)

I just discovered the Wave feature on Emerson knives. Pretty cool stuff.
I was wondering which knives companies implement this or similar on some of their products?

There are other manufacturers that use similiar deployment systems. I have the cold steel ak47 and it works well. spyderco also uses a similar system too....not sure about other manufacturers.

Just make sure that you don't only rely on your folders wave feature for deploying it. Practice all types of opening and become proficient with all of them.

Excellent advice from a guy who knows. I don't buy 'waved' blades because I don't trust the wave feature, and because if the hinge gets too loose you will open the blade partially every time you take out the knife. (I gave my Emmerson Commander to a friend) Even with my copy of Geoff's Rajah II I will try and start the blade with my thumb...maybe I'm just anal? (Belt and suspenders?)

The wave feature looks cool when a pro deploys it but I don’t think its something for me personally. Geoff thanks for the wise words. I still haven’t checked out AMOK! yet, hopefully soon. So little time and money, so many nice blades and stuff out there...

I know the feeling, just remember all the nice toys in the world won't help if you can't use them efficiently ;)

Not many companies do since Emerson holds the Patent on the Wave Feature. Spyderco gave royalties to Ernest Emerson to use the wave. Andrew Demko designed the 'modified' wave for Cold Steel and it holds another patent.
