Johannesburg - A scuffle between three suspected robbers in Tembisa over cash they had just taken off someone, at Van Riebeek Park in Birchacres on Monday, ended up with two of them wounded, Gauteng police said.

The three allegedly held up a person who was taking cash and cheques to the bank and robbed him, spokesperson Ndivhuwo Mulamu said.

Police spotted the alleged robbers' vehicle and gave chase, but lost track of them. They were alerted by members of the public of the suspects' whereabouts.

Two of the suspects were found wounded and a third managed to get away.

The vehicle allegedly used by the suspects was recovered with a pistol and several rounds of ammunition. The stolen cash was also recovered.

The two arrested men are expected to appear in the Kempton Park Magistrate's Court soon.
