    Default laser??? yes or no

What do you guys think about laser sights on a edc?
Do you think it's beneficial or not?
I would think that the red glow would give your position away?

Personally would not recommend it, rather get a WML or spend the money on decent training and ammo.

A decent quality visible laser for a handgun will not be cheap...about the same as a good weaponlight. Of the two, I agree with TH that I would much prefer the light. (you need to ID your target and a laser can't do that). If you must get one, I prefer something like the Crimson Trace grip models instead of one mounted on a frame rail.

Unless I had a very specific need for one...shield guy on a team or maybe for use on a spouse's pistol, etc...I'd spend the money on ammo and training. And yes, that little red or green beam points directly back at the gun and is easily seen if there is any amount of smoke or dust in the air.

We don't threaten people with our firearms, we shoot them.

Lasers have serious intimidation power but do we need that?

    Short answer. No.
Good laser (Crimson trace ect. R3k)
Good night sights and railmount tac light R2k. If you need a rail adapter for a H&K let me know. They are around R150 close to where I stay or talk to TJ at Southern Arms. He told me he could get H&K compatible tac lights for R800-R1000.

Altho I agree with the mutual consensus, laser lights do have their place in the tactical tool box. at night, in cqc, its allows for easy focus on a target (not a threat).

However, other than being expensive, if they work on rail mounts, holsters can become a problem.

How would you guys advise about mounting a laser onto a roni? Scope on top rail, light on one side and laser on the other

i bought the crimson trace laser for my Glock 27, the one that goes around the trigger guard, think it was the LG-406 or something like that. It was good and worked well, until some chap wanted one and i did my gunshop a favor and gave them mine to sell to the chap, i have yet to replace it, not because of the cost as my gunshop said they would replace it with a brand new unit, but i just have not bothered with it at all...
