The best reason to have more than one pistol. Hope you don't have to wait too long, but make a plan to get a backup asap.

Sorry to hear it bud. Was the chamber crack visible from the outside or was it ultrasonically tested?

As I understand it visible from the outside, with the naked eye.

If there is one chink in the Glock-family's armour, then it's the models chambered for .40, and the way they were "slapped together" around the caliber .... (running away ducking gunparts about to be thrown at me)

    ( PS : I EDC a Glock and nothing but a Glock)

I havn't seen the cracks myself. I also don't remember shooting loads that were too hot but clearly thats whats happened. I was much happier living in fools paradise before I knew.
I must add that the gun has seen ALOT (20000rnds+) of ammo.
Can someone recommend a good back-up ? I was considering a full size glock.

Without replacing / servicing - same recoil spring etc. But I agree it was the load not the quantity that did the damage.

If you are used to carrying sub-compact, perhaps have a look at the M&P40c. Or if you are hard up for another Glock, get another G27 for the samke of consistency. You can buy mine if the price is right ;-)

IMHO the damage was caused by overpressure ammunition. Nut riding aside it would have caused shit in any sevice pistol.

BGL look at a G19 dude

BTW the cracks are easily visble to the naked eye. No ultrasonic testing was necessary.

Surely for the calibre of first tier gun the glock is deemed to be 20k+ rounds is not a lot?
Maybe that's why glock owners change to S&W.

    Sucks your gun is buggered!
