Hailstorm will be receiving an order of Lion Steel knives before the HUNTEX Show.

This will include the BLADE 2010 show knife the SR-1 Ti Monolithic frame lock handle and Roto Lock - the frame lock features a steel insert where it contacts with the blade when in the open position.

Uddeholm Sleipner
Uddeholm's modern version of the classic D2 tool steel, with improved toughness to better fit active knife use. Even though this is not a PM steel, the finer steel structure in Uddeholm Sleipner gives better machinabilty, polishabilty and edge retention. The hardness range is 58-64 HRC.

Gianni the owner of Lion Steel told me that an independant reviewer made a video (with the intention of putting the review on Youtube) of cutting hemp rope with the Fixed Blade made of Sleipner Steel and got to something like 1200 cuts without re-sharpening just to find out that he ran out of memory on the recorder somewhere during the process. Apparently the guy intends redoing the review.
