Non existant!! Federal haven't had a handgun ammo shipment for at least 10 years.
Their personal defense stuff is ok, problem is, the personal defense line was developed specifically for civilians and this barrier penetration was NOT factored into ammo performance as Federal deemed the majority of civilian shootings to be face-to-face/CQC.
    Flawed logic at best...

That said, I have tried the 124gr 9x19 Hydra-shok in wetpack and it expanded really well, pretty consistently too. Alas none came in 9x19 with the last batch from the agents, only .38Spl & .357Mag.

    Indeed. Like S&B Ball.

I had some 135gr Hydra Shoks when I first got my 17. They were a bag of ass. Incredibly underpowered. Barely cycled the gun. Worked better under water.

They did work well underwater. That was all really.

Hydra shock was cutting edge in 1988. It is no longer 1988.

Yeah, they are pathetic. All of Federal's personal protection line is hecticly underpowered, it was designed to be.
Hence why I keep going on about the LE ammo being better than the civilian crap we get dumped with (when we're that lucky).
    IIRC the 135gr Hydra-shok is doing 1050fps from a 4" barrel.

If all I could use was Hydra-Shok 124gr for the rest of my like I would have no issues.
Its always done what it needs to do , ticks the boxes and puts the ball in your court as a shooter.

Chuck Haggard has written on numerous occasions about the issues Topeka Kansas PD had with the 124gr Hydra Shocks.

Lots of plugged bullets and lots of bullets fragmenting and giving penetration issues. He records this as even having happened to two consecutive bullets out of the same mag. One plugging the next fragmenting and not penetrating enough.

While I wouldn't feel completely unarmed with them, I wouldn't choose them or seekthem out.

How long ago was this T? Keep in mind Federal have tweaked the Hydra-shok a fair bit over the years, the earlier versions used to fragment about as badly as a Cor-Bon.
