Default Replica firearm for training purposes

really confused as to where this post should go, mods please move if appropriate.

I just purchased a glock 19, and luckily the gunshop has an attached range so I will be able to do live fire training and practise while I wait for competency cerificate and license.

I'd like to obtain a replica for other dry fire style training drills I can do at home, such as explore carry options, practise draw and presentation, movement, as well as combatives training.

where can I obtain an accurate replica Glock 19 that will stand up to some abuse, and hopefully won't cost a fortune.
any opinions on blueguns, and will an airsoft replica stand up to to the abuse of 'alive' training drills?

    thanks in advance!

Sharp Edge/Sharp Shooter had some blue and orange guns at Huntex, maybe check with them.

For draws and stuff the blue guns are pretty good. I have handled the Glock 17 one and it really feels realistic. Not sure if you can get a Glock 19. I know a Glock 27 is pretty much impossible to get. I know ArnoG26 bought a Glock 26 airsoft that he trains with. How authentic it is as far as weight, etc. goes I cannot say.

Why not practise with your actual firearm? IMO, a replica isn't necessary. Rather utilise that money reserved for the replica to do some training offered by some excellent guys right here on gunsite.

Replica is quicker than waiting for your competency and licence.

Get a gas operated airsoft 19 from Gerald at Woverine QTG in CT.

    It cycles like real pistol.

You will get some valuable use out of it for example shooting around the house and practicing, even when you already have your G19.

G also had some mini plates you can shoot with airsoft and a timer system = very nice.

What they said. I've had mine for a while; you can't go wrong with Gerald. It's operation / feel is very similar to the real thing (apart from recoil). It fits my standard G19 holsters and mag holders. Consider getting a spare mag to practice mag changes as well (either with retention or tac reload - I don't think you should drop them on hard surfaces) and a gas adapter so that you can use propane canisters from your local hardware store. Gerald can supply those too.

Also consider getting one of these for when you really want to play rough: http://www.gogreengear.com/product_i...products_id=33
