The belt hooks on the CompTac MTAC are made from a nylon composite with elasticity to allow for hundreds of openings and closing when the clips need to go over the belt for securing the holster. If a clip is forced to stay in an open or extended position for a long time it will loose it's elasticity. So if you force the clip over a belt 1.5cm thick (no not wide) then the clip will most certainly loose it's original return to position after a while.

The belt clips are replaceable.

Nothing about CompTac is shabby.

Kydex clips do not have the resilience of the nylon composite clips. Nylon composite clips are used to ensure extended clip life.

I was using the MTAC with the standard clips for about a year and they were still going strong. I recently replaced them with C-Clips and it works and conceals even better!! (using wilderness belt, carrying at 4 o'clock)

The only downside about the standard clips I experienced was that the holster kept moving to 5 & 6 o'clock but since I've installed the C-Clips, problem sorted!!
