    Default 270 loading

Hi i went to play with loads today with my 270 musgrave and found with s385 at 57.5gr powder and 130 gr sierra game king bullets i could get a grouping of 12mm at 100m.
Ive learnt from a friend that after each shot you must wait at least 2min not to have the barrel overheating and does help a great deal on groupings.I am impressed with this result and wanted to hear what you think and more advise. Im not the best shot in town so that is why im impressed thanks

    kevinhills,
Do you know what velocity your loads are obtaining?
S385 is a very slow burning propellant for such a relatively light bullet, most reloaders prefer S365 for the 270 Win with a 130gr bullet.
But if it works for you, great!
    Nice groups!

i agree with Tomast, i use 365, but at 12mm group go ahead and hunt. anything below 25mm are grate and i think anything smaller than 18mm is fantastic and more than fine for hunting. a 12mm group suggest a smaller than a springbok's head grouping at 300m.

if ever the opportunity presents itself, do a couple of tests on the S365.
