New House-Defense Strategy
Hi All
Just after some advice, I have recently bought a new house and will be moving in in a months time.
In the meantime I need to get the security sorted....and on quite a budget!
What I have at the moment:
Alarm with 2x outside sensors in the garden, it will shortly be linked to ADT and thats it.
I need to sort out the perimeter security, and install electric fence. Has anyone done that themselves? Any suggestions as to system, suppliers, etc?
Also am installing motion activated flood lights front and rear or house.
Also installing burglar bars and security gate on bedroom.
My concern is when not sleeping behind the burgalr bars the house is quite vulnerable to an invasion! I do have two dogs that will hopefully give me a warning and always have the high power on me even at home, but its still a bit vulnerable.
any suggestions?

Phone me Luke. I did quite a lot of this type of stuff a while ago and get installer prices from the wholesalers.

Re: New House-Defense Strategy
IMO the risk is highest when the move starts.
I have heard of to many horror storries of BG's taking advantage of everything being preboxed/packed for them.
If you have any staff/contractors doing the move, or somehow involved then make sure they are 100% reliable.
Also change some/all of the locks if the budget permits it.
Enjoy the new home!Recent studies show that 1 out of every 3 liberals are just as dumb as the other 2

Thanks Camo yea thats good advice and I will be changing the locks.
Will prob be moving stuff myself with some buddies so that will be better.
More worried about personal attack of me and SWAMBO than stuff getting stolen.
cheers
PS anyone know the relevant police station to apply for my winchester defender in the roosevelt park area (hope its Linden)!

Well, you've got a decent sectoral CPF under Francois X, and they work closely with us. You're Sector 6, I'm Sector 5. Sof'town SAPS has friendly DFO staff. Jenny and Frank (both ex-Linden).

Re: New House-Defense Strategy
How about a good dog? I have an Australian Cattle Dog that is extremely alert and very territorial. She is always on guard, I trust her more than my alarm system.
