Alleged hijacker shot dead in JHB
Gia Nicolaides | 39 Minutes Ago
An alleged hijacker has been shot dead outside the Nandos on Corlett Drive in northern Johannesburg after a community member spotted the stolen vehicle.
A man was hijacked in Linksfield on Saturday evening and was held hostage for more than an hour before he was dropped off on the side of the road.
CAP Security Services sent out an sms alert to community members to look out for the stolen blue Mercedes Benz.
A friend of the victim saw the vehicle some time later parked outside the fast food franchise.
CAP’s Gilly Levy said he was forced to open fire.
“He approached the vehicle and his life was put at risk by the hijacker in the vehicle. He shot the hijacker and he died on the scene. There are unconfirmed reports from people who ran away from the scene,” he said.

Johannesburg - A man has shot and killed his friend’s suspected hijacker after he received an SMS with the details of the hijacking and happened to see his friend's hijacked car near a restaurant.
Police spokesperson Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said a middle-aged man was hijacked and thrown out of his car in Linksfield in northern Johannesburg at about 18:30 on Saturday.
The hijacker drove off in the man's blue Mercedes-Benz and disabled the tracking system in the Kew area.
The hijacker then drove in the direction of the Nando’s restaurant in Corlett Road near Melrose Arch. The hijack victim meanwhile sent out an SMS to friends saying he had been hijacked.
One of his friends who received the SMS, an ex-security guard, happened to be near the Nando’s and saw his friend’s car.
He stopped at the restaurant and approached the driver of the car before shooting him in the chest. The suspected hijacker had a weapon with him.
“He (the friend) was not arrested because he prevented a crime. An inquest docket has been created to investigate the circumstances around his death,” Dlamini said.
The car was returned to its owner.
According to Gilly Levy, head of operations at CAP Security, a second vehicle was involved in the incident. CAP was informed of the hijacking.
The hijack victim, who was too traumatised to talk to reporters, had been thrown in the back of another vehicle and this car and his own vehicle had driven around for about an hour before the hijackers dropped him off unhurt, Levy said.
The other two suspects are still at large.

Gauteng police are investigating the death of an alleged hijacker who was shot by a member of the public outside a fast food restaurant at the weekend.
The incident took place shortly after a man was hijacked in Linksfield on Saturday.
The local film producer was hijacked in the early evening and then held hostage in the boot of a car for more than an hour before being dropped off on the side of the road in Linthest.
CAP Security Services sent out an SMS alert with the stolen car's registration details.
Later that evening, a friend of the victim spotted the blue Mercedes-Benz parked outside the Nando's on Collet Drive.
The man opened fire when the alleged hijacker tried to escape.
The police's Lungelo Dlamini said the shooter had not been arrested.
"We believe he was correcting a crime but further investigation will reveal whether he must be charged or not," he said.
An unlicensed firearm and two watches, one of then a Rolex, were found inside the hijacked car.

Thats an interesting legal precedent. So, I wonder what types of crime will qualify for "corrective action". Julius Malema said over the weekend that whites stole their land and we should all be treated as criminals. Hmmmm.
SeanPain is just weakness leaving the body.

The OP concerns a highjacking and shooting of BG by a friend.
It got nothing to do with race.
Stick to the OP or your posts will be deleted.
