Chris Costa also showed this on the Magpul Dynamics Shotgun DVD. Looks cool. Never tried it though

Only problem is that if it doesn't blow all of the shell out, your second round may not load or if it does and the partial shell casing is still in the barrel you are now holding a land mine in your hand. A detonating firearm is an ugly sight.

I have seen this done and it seems to be very effective. Just a couple of things bother me though. I do not think it will be a good idea in a pump or semi-auto. The cut shells become a bit "wobly" and I am not convinced they will feed well. When I saw it done it was also out of a double barrel and this seems to work flawlessly. It is accurate out to about 20 meters. After that, who knows. If all you have are bird loads and you have to improvise an SD load then this works well. If you have time to make proper preparations then get some decent buck loads.

On the Magpul DVD's they fire one either with pump/semi auto. Can't remember which. He fired @ 25yards, and the cut shell made a nice round hole through the target.

Wouldn't want to try that with a full choked double, might end up with cylinder choke.

I had the same thought....My chokes are incredibly tight and I would only put a breneke slug through it. Nothing else besides shot.
