It's a difficult question to answer with one knife!
To answer the question with a question: what's your intended use, do you use it in open public(super large are frowned upon), can you sharpen it(certain steels are more suitable).
There are so many options!
Ive decided recently to a plan: I'm going to edc 3 knives - a rotational of my favorites in my left pocket, a spyderco cricket in my right pocket(small and not scary to public!) and a fixed blade boot knife, also I will carry either my spyderco civilian, harpy or matriarch in my vehicle.
My wife thinks I'm obsessed! I'm not so sure!

If I had to suggest 1 knife: spyderco para military.
Not as big as military with all it's benefits!

Well seems like I'm far off on this, I carry a K-bar a bit on the bigger side than an folder but what n knife damn!!!!

If your budget can handle it get an umnumzaan. Is the hardest working knife i got right now.
