Competency certificates: Waiting time

Steve072...I don"t know but i would think so.It is Falcon firearm academy and they are saps accredited along with 7 other accredidations.I have used them in the past...no problems there.

I will try find out on monday,but it seems that CFR has lost documents and has refused issueing a competency based on this.

Soooo it seems that all the correct documentation was sent but then pats of it got lost in the system or was just not read or whatever the hell happens.

The DFO at Walmer police station [great people] says that an appeal can take up to a year and we must just re-apply.

End result..2k on training,all the effort involved in complying with the law,3 months of waiting for nothing.Fire arm paid for already in may and nothing has now happened.

Now to re-apply and start again. There is no accountabillity at all,surely CFR,at the consideration stage could have just contacted the walmer DFO about docs that they had lost.No,no,no just refuse application..so what.

This makes me so mad i could puke out my ears..

Sorry man - it is frustrating. I remember how I felt trying to licence my grandfathers rifle. Took 4.5 years! None of my others (thankfully) have come close to that.

Submitted : 07 Sept @ Norwood Police Station
SMS Recieved: 08 Sept - recieving att at DFO
At CFR : End Sept (can't remember exact date I called)
CRC: 12 Oct
In for consideration : 20 October

Based on the last few posts- I reckon I'll call mid week next week, hopefully it'll be approved.

Does anyone know what one needs to do once it's approved as I want to get my license app in a.s.a.p?
