Re: Competency certificates: Waiting time
I'm glad to hear about the safe inspection bit. I live in a cottage and my landlady in the main house seems a bit anti firearms, even though she pays for an armed response security service. I'll try get away with fotos and a sworn affidavit regarding the safe.

Re: Competency certificates: Waiting time
Handed my competency and rifle license application in on th 2nd June 2011 phoned today 14 June 2011 and the application is in PTA worked on today.
Funny I have not received a single sms. Also only two references was contacted, one was not on my list the DFO phoned my work number and interviewed the fist person to answer the phone, he said he has to finalise the app and send it out this was last week Wednesday the 8th.
Seems like they are moving faster now, just hoping I am not one of the "auto decline" apps.

Re: Competency certificates: Waiting time
I submitted my comp on 9 March 2011 it was approved on the 9 June 2011. Submitted for license and all i did was attached a very good motivation from a lawyer and pictures of the safe.
The Constable in Honeydew told me 7 months for the license and a further 3 months for the card to be printed and they do not print letters for the gun to be collected early. Have to wait for the card.

My competency and licenses were both approved early May this year, CFR informed me that card printing should take just over 3-4 weeks! I called Alex today to follow up and was told they haven't even received cards for the March approvals?? It is all good and well that they have a 4 month approval SLA however it looks like the card printing could take another 4 months, so we are almost back at a year again?
