Trijicon RMR RM06 Adjustable Illum LED
I am trying one of the new Adjustable Illum LED RMR RM06 with 3.25 MOA Dot on my AR and it is awesome and small and tough.
The RMR has eight available brightness settings and the led can be manually adjusted for brightness by pressing the plus or minus buttons on either side of the unit. Switching to auto adjust mode cam be achieved by pressing both buttons simultaneously and release or by first on after it was switched off - the first touch of the + or - adjustment will cancel auto adjustment and change the unit to manual adjustment . Battery life can be managed by turning the unit off which is achieved by pressing and holding the easily reachable + and - buttons on either side of the unit for 3 seconds.
In auto mode it steps down led intensity from high ambient lighting to dark in 2 steps - half intensity in approx 1 sec and then again half of that in approx 1 sec if needed.
I am trying it on my AR and I like it a lot - easy and fast on target and more than able to handle the best sunlight we have here.
Constant-on battery life is around 1 year per Trijicon and that is on a CR2032 lithium button cell - very good.
It is said to be waterproof to 20m.

Thats pretty cool. Like that it has a more sensible dot size.

Hey Khumba
Any chance we can see pics of it mounted on your AR?
I bought a Reflex RX30 which I intend for my shotgun, I find that with my very dominant left eye and right handed shooting, I battle to pick up the RMR's red dot, whereas the bigger sight picture you get with the RX30 I don't have that problem. On the flip side it's HUGE compared to the RMR

The Aimpoint Micro manages the extreme battery life of 5 years constant-on on setting 8 by way of intricate circuitry and and micro led (a couple of these LEDS fit on a pin head) - this is one of the tech differences between a R5000 optic and chinese clone optic.

There are two types of gear in the world. Good gear and cheap gear. There is no good cheap gear.
